The Hot & Spicy Festival 2020 is set to take over Galaxy Soho next weekend, Aug 14-16, and while we hope you’ve been diligently icing your tastebuds in anticipation of all the face-melting meals you’re going to devour (pretty sure that’s how science works), you should also dust off those dancing shoes cause we’ve got a jam-packed lineup of entertainment to help you sweat out the spice.
Here’s a small sampling of what’ll be on offer.
It wouldn’t be a Mexico-themed Hot & Spicy Fest without some tunes from south of the border. Playing a catalog of covers that represent stalwarts of Mexico’s music scene like Mana and Molotov, plus a couple of other sounds from around the region such as Soda Stereo and Enanitos Verdes, The Latin Rockers are ready to take you on an international auditory journey of epic proportions.
Over the last five years, Joker’s Belief has brought their signature blend of funk, rock, and soul to clubs and festivals in Beijing and across China. Now, fresh on the heels of their first international release, Days as Lost Dogs, the band is primed and ready to serve up a steady stream of tunes to accompany your steady stream of cervezas and margaritas.
The Great Buffalo Blues is a force of nature, and are as big in stature as they are in sound. Reaching deep into the heart of soul, funk, reggae, and rock, this Beijing-based band knows exactly how to not only get a party started, but keep it going well into the night. Having graced the stage at Beijinger festivals in the past, they’re back by popular demand to bring the funk.
